The National Commission for Teacher Education (NCTE) is working for the development of teacher education in India. But a large number of teacher-education institutes are affiliated to N.C.T.E. Not following the guidelines. The growth of a large number of private teacher-training institutions has made the quality of teacher-training programs challenging. If quality, creativity and timely training is imparted in teachers’ training keeping in mind innovation, modernity, geographical conditions and local needs in teaching methods, techniques, policies, strategies, then there can be a tremendous change in the teaching behavior of teachers. In today’s perspective, teachers should have the skill to use innovative teaching methods in their teaching. There is a need that pre-service and in-service teachers should be given proper training in online mediums of teaching in addition to the traditional methods of teaching. Teaching through online medium is a challenge facing our training colleges today. In this book, we have tried to draw the attention of the readers towards the challenges, problems and major issues in teachers’ training. Various authors have presented their valuable views on the issues and challenges of teacher education through their articles and research papers.
