We believe that senior citizens do not just mean retirement — it is a new birth, a new time. To awaken the latent talent in their minds, we have launched various innovative programs at Hosla — one of which is the collection of poems by this old person. Along with Hosla’s quarterly magazine, this book is a milestone where senior citizens are expressing themselves — in words, in rhythm, in heart. Our small hope — may the seeds of poetry also awaken in the readers who read this book. May the younger generation find the fragrance of social service in every page of this book, may this love touch their hearts and souls, may their souls also be purified with this thought — that if work is spiritual and selfless, then only will God be attained, the goal of life, which the Japanese call “IKIGAI,” comes.
